Fast Track FC Show Grit in Narrow Friendly Defeat to Asante Kotoko

Fast Track FC put up a spirited performance but suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat against Asante Kotoko SC in a high-profile friendly match played on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Agona SDA SHS Park.

Despite the result, Fast Track FC matched their more illustrious opponents for long spells and displayed discipline, organization, and confidence against one of Ghana’s most successful clubs. The midfield battle was expertly marshalled by Abdul-Rahman Bauh, whose composure, ball recovery, and distribution stood out throughout the contest.

The difference on the day came down to experience. While Fast Track FC relied on a youthful and developing squad, Asante Kotoko fielded a lineup rich in top-flight experience and pedigree. Their team featured well-known names in Ghana football, including versatile defender Musah Hamzata, midfield general Baba Yaya, returning right back Emmanuel Kotey—back after nearly 11 months out injured—winger Johnson Oppong Owusu, seasoned defender Fuseini Zakaria, and third-choice senior goalkeeper Benjamin Twum.

The only goal of the match was scored by Koulibaly Alassane, an Ivorian trialist forward who once again demonstrated his sharp instincts in front of goal. His decisive finish proved to be the turning point in an otherwise closely fought encounter. According to football analysts, Koulibaly’s performance further underlined his reputation as a natural finisher and has already attracted reported interest from clubs such as Al Merreikh (Sudan) and Simba SC (Tanzania).

While the defeat highlights areas where experience still matters at the highest level, the overall display from Fast Track FC was encouraging. The match provided valuable exposure, learning moments, and confidence for the squad as they continue their development journey in the Ashanti Regional Division Two League.

Fast Track FC will take positives from this performance and refocus on their league campaign, strengthened by the lessons gained from competing against elite opposition.
